Artisan nougat is an emblematic product of Tacoronte, present in the popular festivities of many municipalities. Its production and sale have been documented since the 18th century, and Tacoronte is the only nougat-producing municipality in Tenerife.

This tradition, passed down from generation to generation within several Tacoronte families, requires a laborious artisanal process. Ancient and secret recipes are used, with ingredients such as honey, sugar and almonds from the country, as well as cinnamon, lemon, coconut and other flavors that give it its unique character.
