TheDracaena draco (Dracaena draco) is an emblematic species of the Canary Islands.
Valued since the Middle Ages by alchemists and physicians because of its red sap, known as dragon’s blood, to which medicinal and mystical properties were attributed.
In the municipality several centenary specimens are preserved, highlighting the one located in the Plaza de Óscar Domínguez, located on the land that belonged to the family of this famous surrealist painter.
