Tacoronte-Acentejo Wine

A wine with Atlantic soul and volcanic roots

On the northern slopes of Tenerife, where the Atlantic breeze mixes with the volcanic soil and the trade winds, the wine of the Tacoronte-Acentejo Denomination of Origin, the first recognized in the Canary Islands in 1992, is born. This wine-producing territory extends from the coast to 750 meters above sea level, including municipalities such as Tacoronte, La Matanza, El Sauzal and Tegueste.

The vineyards, cultivated on terraces and terraces, are mostly cultivated by hand, preserving traditional methods such as training in harrows. The native varieties, such as Listán Negro and Negramoll in reds, and Listán Blanco and Malvasía in whites, give rise to wines with character, freshness and a marked insular identity.

Tacoronte-Acentejo is not only wine; it is landscape, culture and tradition. Local wineries, many of them family-owned, offer wine tourism experiences that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the winemaking process and taste wines that tell the story of this unique land.
