A stairway to silence, beauty and amazement

The Mirador de los 500 Escalones, in Tacoronte, is one of those places that seem designed to stop time. From the top, the Atlantic stretches infinitely and the Teide looms majestically among clouds that play with the light. The path, flanked by wild vegetation and the whisper of the sea in the background, descends along an ancient cliff to reach a corner that invites you to contemplate, breathe and feel.

The route begins at the end of Calle La Jara, in the urbanization Jardín del Sol. From there, you descend a narrow path that soon turns into a long staircase of about 500 steps. The descent is easy, but the climb, with a drop of about 120 meters, requires some fitness and time. Comfortable shoes, water and stopping to enjoy the scenery as you ascend are recommended.
