This coastal enclave had great historical relevance, since in the <strong data-start=\"416\" data-end=\"429\">16th<\/strong> century it was used as a <strong data-start=\"449\" data-end=\"479\">wharf for the wood<\/strong> extracted from the Agua Garc\u00eda forest. From that function derives the toponym <strong data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"573\">Puerto de la Madera<\/strong>, which designates the neighborhood located right on the cliffs.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"862\">Crossing the beach, you can see one of the oldest buildings in the area: a <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"746\">water gallery<\/strong>, built to supply the fields of <strong data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"859\">Puerto de la Madera, Valle de Guerra and Tejina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"1123\">During the tour, the native vegetation accompanies the visitor with a rich sample of typical flora of the Canary coast: <strong data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1068\">cactus, cornicales, sea buckthorn, magarzas, tabaibas, coastal verodes<\/strong>, among other species adapted to this marine environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1518\">The route culminates in the <strong data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1179\">Mesa del Mar housing development<\/strong>, from where, through a tunnel, you can access the promenade of <strong data-start=\"1250\" data-end=\"1271\">Las Arenas beach<\/strong>, extending to the <strong data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1314\">Sagrero puddle<\/strong>, right at the mouth of the <strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1370\">Guayonje ravine<\/strong>.
