A barn with history that boosts the wine of today<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Built in 1685, La Alh\u00f3ndiga is one of the most emblematic buildings of Tacoronte. With a sober and elegant appearance, this old building was created as a public granary to store the wheat that the neighbors contributed in solidarity, following the rules of the P\u00f3sito<\/em>, an institution founded in 1618 to meet the collective needs of the people. <\/p>\n

More than a simple warehouse, the Alh\u00f3ndiga acted as a kind of primitive town hall, from where communal life was organized and the goods of the municipality were managed.<\/p>\n

Today, this historic building has been reborn as a cultural space linked especially to the agricultural world. And not only that: since the 1970s, the Alh\u00f3ndiga has been the epicenter of an authentic revival of wine in Tacoronte and the entire region of Acentejo. <\/p>\n

The driving force? The Alh\u00f3ndiga Wine Weeks<\/strong>, which began in 1978 and have been key for the wines of this land to reach the top. Thanks to this impetus, Canary Island wine is currently experiencing one of its most brilliant periods. <\/p>\n
